Wed 7:45 West Ham v Aston Villa
As good as the Hammers were in the first half at the Stadium of Light, they were poor in the second and were comprehensively outplayed by ten men Sunderland; they should count themselves fortunate to have come away with a point. West Ham are still second from bottom but only goal difference is keeping them from the foot of the table and a second win this season is still proving elusive. They host a Villa side that've only lost once on the road but recent results haven't really matched Villa's ambitions (the Chelsea victory aside). Jon Carew came off the bench at Goodison to grab his first Premier league goal of the current campaign and secure a point for the visitors. Kovac for West Ham and Cuellar for Villa are both suspended for this game after dismissals at the weekend. Villa have drawn their last three matches in all competitions whilst the Hammers have drawn three of their last four Premier league fixtures. It's looking like there won't be much to choose between them.
Draw 1-1
