Tues 7:45 Wigan v Aston Villa
Wigan's last home game and their first on a newly relaid pitch resulted in a fantastic one-nil win over Liverpool though the Reds were hardly at it that night. Consistency has proved the Latics' downfall this season and they were slaughtered at the Reebok last weekend. Caldwell had a nightmare in that game with the blame being attributed to sleepless nights but improvement will be required if they're to preserve their Premier league status. Just four points and three places separates them from relegation, and they could struggle again against a pacy Villa side chasing a Champions League place. Fixture congestion has caught up with the Villans and they trail fourth spot by six points though they do have a couple of games in hand. They could only manage a draw at the Britannia last weekend but they're not short on attacking options and Agbonlahor could start after coming off the bench against Stoke. A Wigan side, without captain Melchiot, will do well to get anything from this game though their 'inconsistent' tag still makes a Villa win a risky bet.
