Wed 8:00 Blackpool v Liverpool
The big Premier League news is all about King Kenny back at the helm at Anfield. However, there should be sympathy for Roy Hodgson, a man of integrity who wasn't given the time to address problems that started at the club way before his tenure. Dalglish looks to have the rest of the season to make an impact and it was an encouraging first performance in the FA Cup defeat at Old Trafford. The disappointment is that he now loses Gerrard for three matches after the Liverpool captain tried to incite some competitive passion amongst his teammates but only succeeded in receiving red for an over-enthusiastic tackle. Liverpool's away record is poor with four successive Premier League defeats and only five points secured from a possible thirty. They travel to Bloomfield Road where Blackpool have the worst home record in the top flight but they have played at least two fewer home fixtures than everyone else. Holloway made nine changes for his side's FA Cup defeat at Southampton implying that the focus is most definitely on this midweek match. Only goal difference separates the two sides in mid-table and four points above the drop zone, and it promises to be closer than some might think. Don't expect Liverpool to start firing all of a sudden plus they still look vulnerable at the back. It's a narrow win for the home side for me.
Home Win 2-1
