Wed 8:00 Everton v Birmingham
Despite the euphoria of winning the Carling Cup and gaining a place in Europe, Birmingham crashed to defeat at home to relegation rivals, West Brom, and as a consequence find themselves in the bottom three. It was surprising not to see McLeish bring form striker, Zigic, on against the Baggies but it seems a groin injury kept him from being risked. Both him and Ridgewell are suffering with similar problems and are doubts for the game at Goodison. The Blues have won just two Premier League away fixtures but they've both come since the turn of the year and they've also been successful on the road in the cup competitions. However, Everton have proved that the FA Cup defeat at home to Reading was just a blip by winning at St James Park. The Toffees are undefeated in their last five Premier League home matches and appear to have managed without the midfield pairing of Cahill and Fellaini. Phil Neville has also suffered a slight hamstring strain and may not feature. So tight is the bottom half of the table that Everton still need to get points on the board if they're to avoid slipping back towards the relegation places and another win should allay any fears.
Home Win 2-1
